Try saute potatoes
Try this saute potatoes recipe for an alternative to boiled.
Ingredients required
· 500 g (1 lb) small or medium potatoes · 40 g (1.5 lb) butter · Salt · Freshly ground black pepper · Chopped chives or parsley, to garnish
Equipment
· Camping stove (single burner or more) · Saucepan · Frying pan · Sharp knife · Palette knife · Kitchen paper
1. Scrub the potatoes and boil them in well salted water for 10 minutes or until they begin to get tender. 2. Drain and cool slightly. 3. Peel them and cut into 5 mm (1/4 inch) thick slices. 4. Heat the butter in a large frying pan, spread the potatoes in a single layer over the bottom of the pan and fry until golden brown underneath. 5. Using a palette knife, turn the slices and fry the other side until golden brown underneath. 6. Saute the potatoes in batches if necessary. 7. Spread the potatoes on absorbent kitchen paper to drain. 8. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. 9. Garnish with chopped parsley or chives.
