A simple garlic steak
There is nothing quite like a garlic steak cooked to perfection.
Ingredients required
· 25 g (1 oz) butter · 1 tablespoon oil · 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped · 1 clove garlic, crushed · Salt · Freshly ground black pepper · 2 fresh sirloin steaks · 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley · 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Equipment
· Camping stove (single burner or more) · Frying pan · Sharp knife
1. Melt the butter and oil together in a frying pan. 2. Add the onion and garlic and sauté gently for about 5 minutes without colouring. 3. Season the steak lightly with salt and generously with pepper. 4. Add to the pan and fry quickly for 2-4 minutes each side (depending on how rare they are required). 5. Stir in the parsley and lemon juice. 6. Turn the steaks over again and cook gently for a further ˝ to 1 minute. 7. Taste and adjust the seasoning, if necessary. 8. Serve immediately.
